Qualification Awarded: Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (RQF).

Course Duration: 1 day (9am - 5:30pm)

Assessment: 

·      Participation in the full training day

·      Multiple choice question paper

Fee per person: £150

The price noted above is for for independent bookings and renewals. This course is now included free of charge with AIM Level 3 Forest School Leader Training.

Fee includes: Refreshments, hot woodland lunch, training notes, exam fee and certification.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering has been designed to address the food safety needs of the catering and hospitality sector.

As Forest School Leaders, or in other capacities working with children and young people in the woodland environment, you have a legal responsibility to follow safe practices when handling and preparing food. This qualification will provide you with an appreciation of good food hygiene practice.

Blake training

The training is run by Sarah Blake of Blake Training, who has been training in food safety for 30 years and specialises in `Food Safety in the Outdoors` with a programme she developed initially with Lantra Awards. In addition to the recognised Qualsafe Level 2 qualification certificate, you will also receive a certificate of attendance which personalises your accreditation with emphasis on cooking outdoors in the woodland environment, demonstrating your training is appropriate to outdoor cooking.

  • Legal requirements

  • Microbes - Where are they lurking?

  • Illnesses linked to food and the outdoors

  • Hygiene control, temperature control, storage, handling, preparation, cooking, equipment…

  • Personal Hygiene

  • Food safety control - relevant to you!

  • Design your Hazard Analysis

  • Design your food safety guidelines

A multiple choice test will conclude the course, with successful completion resulting in a nationally recognised qualification.
